Your home-base will be the scenic town of Rapallo, perfectly positioned on the Tigullio Gulf to allow easy access to the Cinque Terre and other scenic towns. Spend a day at the Cinque Terre National Park hiking the trails, boating along the coast, interacting with the locals and tasting delicious seafood at a restaurant by the sea. Then, visit other local gems such as Portofino, an internationally renowned resort town, or Camogli, a fishing village located on the appropriately named Gulf of Paradise. For those looking for further adventure, nearby Portovenere with its winding hiking trails, sea caves and beaches is also worth a visit. Take your time exploring the beauty of the Italian Riviera and its seaside gems during this tailored vacation package.
Day 1: RAPALLO
Arrival and check-in at the hotel in Rapallo where you will enjoy a welcome drink. Then you will have time at leisure for relaxing before a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at your hotel accommodation.
Day 2: CINQUE TERRE PARK
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. This day will be dedicated entirely to the Cinque Terre National Park (the Five lands), an area composed of five sea-side villages built on cliffs dangling above the sea and along terraced hills. Meet with your guide at the hotel and take the local train to explore the area from from Monterosso to the other villages of Riomaggione, Manarola, Vernazza and Corniglia. Lunch on your own in Corniglia and time for relaxing in the afternoon. If the weather permits, we suggest returning to Monterosso by boat (season and weather permitting). Travel back to your hotel accommodation in Rapallo in the evening. Dinner on your own and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE, PORTOFINO, CAMOGLI
After breakfast at your hotel, we suggest exploring some of the most fascinating and well-known towns in the area: Portofino, Camogli and Santa Margherita Ligure. Take a morning train to Santa Margherita and from there travel by boat (season and weather permitting) or bus to Portofino, where you can take a stroll through this sea-side town loved by the international jet-set. If the weather permits, you can boat all the way to San Fruttuoso to admire the submerged statue of the Christ of the Abyss and its famous Abbey. In the afternoon, a stop at Camogli is a must and we suggest indulging in the famous focaccia with cheese from nearby Recco. Later in the afternoon return to your hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.
Day 4: PORTOVENERE
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and end of our services. After checking out, you may wish to visit the romantic town of Portovenere in the Gulf of the Poets. Passing by the colorful houses along the sea shore, you will climb up to the Church of Saint Peter for breathtaking vistas over the gulf and peninsula—a perfect way to end your trip.
